Phillippa Lambert BA Hons ATD

Landscape Design • Garden Planning and Planting Design • Historical Research and Restoration

Phillippa specialises in planning and planting design for private gardens, both large and small, through to work on the wider landscape, including consultancy for the restoration of historic parks.

Commissions undertaken for architects and developers in connection with planning applications form a contrasting, and often contemporary, facet of the practice. Recent major projects include the design of the external environment for Quarrhurst, a Victorian estate reimagined for the 21st century on the north side of the Isle of Wight.

A close working relationship with the client is the primary objective from initial consultation through to finished project, so ensuring a mutually successful result. Phillippa aims to create beautiful outdoor spaces with a seamless transition from inside to outside. She believes design that invokes a ‘sense of place’ has the potential to enhance lives, through relaxation, inspiration and activity. Her ‘site specific’ approach allows all the factors of climate, history, environment and practicality to produce an integrated whole which is both visually and emotionally satisfying.

Private projects include the redesign of the planting at Shalfleet Manor, Ningwood Manor and Pidford Manor, and the restoration of the historic park of North Court at Shorwell.

Corporate clients include: I.W.Council; I.W.Centre for the Coastal Environment; Biffa; Rainey Petrie Architects; Christopher Scott; Lincoln Miles Architecture; Southern Water Services; Medina Housing.
