Old Park is situated in an area known as The Undercliff, within the Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 4km to the south-west of Ventnor, and to the south of Undercliff Drive (A3055). Access to Haddon Lake House from Undercliff Drive is via Old Park Road that approaches it from the east.

The Undercliff is an ancient rotational feature dating from the end of the last ice age, found beneath the chalk downs, from which it is separated by dramatic vertical cliffs, so forming a sheltered, secret landscape with open sea views. Tilted towards the south, the Undercliff enjoys a Mediterranean-like micro-climate where subtropical bedding schemes luxuriated in Victorian gardens, a theme echoed by the sub-tropical borders at Haddon Lake House today.
